The 21st annual seminar of the Ali Akbar College included the following classes:
Vocal (for all students) – learning the theory, structure, and forms of Indian music through singing.
Instrumental (sitar, sarod, flute, guitar, violin, etc.) – learning technique, exercises, compositions, and how the “ragas” are developed.
Tabla – beginning, intermediate and advanced classes in tabla performance, in both solo and accompaniment styles.
Tala (for all students) – learning the rhythmic cycles of Indian music through recitation and Indian music’s unique system of hand clapping.
Review (instrumental) – in smaller groups, learning how to practice, reviewing the compositions taught by Maestro Khan, and working on technical skills and exercises.

To take part in the 22nd Annual Seminar of the Ali Akbar College, please request an application form and send it back to the College. There are a limited number of places available and all students will be admitted on a first come – first served basis. Therefore, please send in your application form early!
