The AACM Seminar Review Cassettes are edited versions of the Vocal and Instrumental lessons given by Ustad Ali Akbar Khan in Basel during recent Seminars. Each cassette comes with written notations of the compositions and used together, they are excellent resource materials for a practical study of classical Indian music. The Vocal cassettes consist of: exercises, sargams and compositions in the styles of Dhrupad, Khyal, Tarana and Thumri – all set in a variety of Talas. The Instrumental cassettes feature “Gats” in various Ragas and Talas, including variations which demonstrate the development of Bistars, Bols, Tans, and Jhala.
While the cassettes are not intended to replace the direct learning experience, they give students who already have some experience, the chance to expand their knowledge of repertoire with compositions by one of India’s most respected teachers and composers.

Each 90-minute cassette (with notations) costs Sfr. 35.- For students of the Ali Akbar College the cost is Sfr. 30.- (An AACM student is one who has attended at least 1 seminar during the past five years.)
Postage and Handling is Sfr. 1.50 for each cassette.
