Dear Students and Friends, It is a pleasure to announce the 39th Annual Seminar of the Ali Akbar College of Music – Switzerland, which will take place from November 10 -16, 2024! The teaching during this seminar will take place both live and online. The 39th Annual Seminar features the following activities: I. Intensive Instrumental and Vocal Seminar: November 10 – 16 II. Intensive Instrumental and Vocal Seminar: November 10 -16 Ken Zuckerman – This seminar will take place both live and online via Zoom and will consist of classes for beginning, intermediate and advanced students. Ongoing Classes

Vocal Classes Vocal classes give a general introduction to the classical music of North India through singing. Compositions are learned in the most common ragas and students also learn the basic Talas (rhythmic cycles). Aspects of theory and history are also taught and students become familiar with the major styles and forms of Indian music (dhrupad, khyal, thumri, tarana, etc.). Vocal classes presently take place on Monday from 19.10 – 20.20.
